Alignment of the FXYD subunits of P2C ATPases (Na+/K+ + H+/K+)
The proteins without accession numbers are taken from (Sweadner, K. J. and Rael, E. (2000) Genomics 68: 41-56).
The alignment was performed with the programme T-COFFEE (Notredame et al. 2000, J. Mol. Biol. 302: 205-217) with default settings.
The position of the transmembrane helix is adopted from the annotation of the proteins in SwissProt. It might, therefore, be slightly different in the proteins in vivo. Signal sequences are shown in ITALICS.
Amino acids in the alignment shown in CAPITALS are at least present in 83% (5 of 6) of the gamma subunits.
